The government introduces the retail market price, which is much lower than the competitive market price.

Szilárd Német made an extraordinary announcement about Tusnádfürdő, the site of the Bálványosi Free University. As he said, the government sensed the drastic increase in energy prices, which is why it introduced the energy emergency. He stated that the runaway prices cannot be passed on to the population , so the government developed a seven-point action plan.

In addition to the action plan, Szilárd Németh explained that everyone will have to pay the reduced utility price until average consumption.
The average consumption is 1729 m3/year for gas and 2523 kWh/year for electricity.

He added that a new tariff, the retail market price, was introduced, which is much lower than the competitive market price : the reduced overhead price is HUF 36/kWh for electricity, and the retail market price is HUF 70.1/kWh. In the case of natural gas, the reduced overhead price is HUF 102/m3 up to average consumption, and HUF 747/m3 above. He added that the competitive market price for electricity is HUF 268.9/kWh, and for natural gas HUF 1,020 per cubic meter.

In the case of night electricity, the discounted limit is HUF 23.1, and the residential market price is HUF 62.9/kWh. He added that this decree does not apply to households with a heat pump, for whom the tariff for the operation of the heat pump remains until the originally defined unlimited consumption. The discount for large families also remains for gas consumption, in the case of a family with three children, the 1,729 m3 increases by another 600 m3; it increases by another 300 m3 for each additional child.

When asked by PestiSrácok.hu, Németh Szilárd said that the government does not have as much room for maneuver in the case of gas as it does in the case of electricity, because in the case of natural gas, our country needs imports, while Paks has a huge competitive advantage in the production of electricity.

It is important to highlight that there is also a solution for the central heating of condominiums: the condominiums must indicate that the sub-units use a common meter, and in this case the limit is multiplied by the number of sub-units.

The decree on the amendment of the overhead reduction was published in the Közlöny at the same time as the information.
