After such a difficult year, this congress represents a new opportunity for the whole world: it brings the community together, increases faith and shows a way out, says Diána Ürge-Vorsatz, one of the twelve heralds of the International Eucharistic Congress in Budapest in September.

Hungary September 5-12, 2021 will host the International Eucharistic Congress, in which Pope Francis is scheduled to participate in the closing mass. The organizers asked 12 well-known people to promote the Catholic world event, including artists, priests, doctors, and researchers. The messengers received their credentials from Cardinal Péter Erdő in a ceremonial setting at the introductory press conference; their task is to promote the congress and its main goal – the joint celebration of Jesus present in the Eucharist.

The 12 heralds of the world event: musician Gergő Baricz, songwriter, Franciscan monk Csaba Böjte, neurosurgeon András Csókay, actor Attila Dolhai, singer, actress Anna Kubik, writer János Lackfi, poet, folk singer Mária Petrás, singer Sena Dagadu, performer Ági Szalóki, songwriter, Róbert Szikora is the frontman of R-GO, Csaba Pindroch is an artist, Diána Ürge-Vorsatz is a physicist and climate researcher.

Anna Kubik, an actress who won the Kossuth Prize, said the following about the invitation:

When I look at the state of the world today, as a person of faith, I believe that we started living without laws. We should finally break away from the idea that man can control everything. If we look around, we see the consequences of our actions and selfishness. We must return to divine and natural laws. What is really needed now is for a million hearts to ring together and sing the glory of the Lord, which is what the congress is about. If I can do anything about it, it is my sacred and beautiful duty.
