In the Hungarian church renovation program, 72 churches in 61 settlements in Somogy county can be renovated for HUF 1.022 billion, the State Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office responsible for church and ethnic relations announced on Thursday in Kéthely.
Miklós Soltész said at the press conference held at the chapel in Gzőrohegy: according to a decision made recently, the government will provide 160 million forints in addition to the program budget this year for the complete renovation of the Szent Kreszt church in Nagyatád, and 300 million for the construction of the Catholic community center in Siófok in 2023. forints, and contributes 250 million forints to the completion of the Csurgó high school gymnasium.
The state secretary reminded that the churches received almost HUF 26 billion in support in the Hungarian church renovation program, of which 1,400 applicants in Hungary and 400 applicants in the Hungarian-inhabited settlements of the Carpathian Basin receive funds.
