The operative tribe responsible for restarting the economy decided on eight new regional and economic development measures, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade told MTI on Friday.

Péter Szijjártó stated:

they implement infrastructural and logistical developments in Komárom, Gödö, Dunakeszin and Nyíregyháza, speed up the construction of the MotoGP track in Hajdúnáná and facilitate the registration of patents, the recognition of diplomas obtained abroad, and the establishment of IT professionals in Hungary.

As he said, in Komárom, where one of the largest electric battery manufacturing capacities in Europe was created following a large Korean investment, the city's transport infrastructure is being significantly improved; a bypass road is being built and a railway line is being modernized.

They also decided to further develop the industrial park next to Nyíregyháza in order to allow new investors to settle there. In Gödö, where one of the world's largest battery factories also operates, an industrial innovation development area will be created next to the city.

And in Dunakeszin, a modern railway transshipment will be established, which will ensure the satisfaction of the logistics needs of the industrial districts north of Budapest, he added.

They also made a decision that helps well-educated young Hungarians who have graduated abroad to return home, and makes the recognition of their diplomas in Hungary cheaper and faster. The state offices will have only one month to issue the necessary certificates for the recognition of diplomas, he explained the details.

According to Péter Szijjártó, one of the most important aspects in the global innovation competition is how many patents are registered in a country. In this situation, they help the registration of inventions by partially canceling or reducing the patent maintenance fee.

They also decided to offer favorable conditions for the settlement in Hungary of "digital nomads", i.e. those globally sought-after, highly qualified professionals who can almost be classified in the "sci-fi category" and otherwise carry out their work without being tied to a place.

They also want to speed up the implementation of the MotoGP track being built on the border of Hajdúnánás in order to be able to organize a race on the track in 2023, Péter Szijjártó added.

As he added, these measures are necessary because economic competition is intensifying week by week. In the first period of the new global economic era after the epidemic, it will be decided which countries will become the winners of the new era.

"We Hungarians are doing well in this competition, but we cannot sit back. Every week, we have to take new and new measures, we have to put new and new arguments into the hands of investors as to why they should come here, to Hungary. Because the new jobs depend on these investments, the growth of our economic performance depends on the new jobs, and it depends on whether there will be a 5.5 percent GDP increase by the end of the year, as a result of which we can return the personal income tax paid to families at the beginning of next year." - said Péter Szijjártó.
