"This law is contrary to everything we consider to be our common European values," German Foreign Minister Michael Roth wrote yesterday. Hungarian legislation severely discriminates against LGBTIQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer) people, he said.

According to Michael Roth's Twitter post, the relevant decision of the Parliament is "another serious state discrimination against LGBTIQ people". "This law is against everything that we see as our common European values," wrote the state minister of the federal government led by Angela Merkel.

"Full solidarity and support for LGBTIQ people in Hungary," added the politician from the German Social Democratic Party (SPD).

One of the laws passed in the Parliament yesterday affects the community included in the entry of the German Minister of State. The legislation adopted with 157 votes in favor and 1 vote against provides for the creation of a register of perpetrators of pedophile crimes, and also formulates regulations regarding sexual education sessions at school.

German national public television ARD published a report and commentary on the new law on its news portal tagesschau.de. In the commentary, it was highlighted: "it must be stopped, Orbán has come to grips with the negative campaign", since with a package of laws that includes homosexuality and pedophilia, he "kills several birds with one stone", creates a "new image of the enemy", can attack Brussels, "can fish for votes on the extreme right". and it can divide the opposition that is running as a unit in the 2022 parliamentary elections.
