According to the Hungarian saying, a liar is caught sooner than a lame dog. In the 21st century, due to the (dangerously overwhelming) omnipresence of technology, this is even more true. So it is not difficult to catch up with Gergely Karácsony either.

In his election campaign, the leader of the immeasurably popular Párbeszéd(?) promised not only eternal life and free beer, but everything else. Because the capital, isn't it, "dying", destroyed, democracy disappeared from it under István Tarlós

Unfortunately, he put it there. Just not where it should have been.

Due to space constraints, we are unable to list what he did not do. It's not worth it, because every Budapest resident can experience every day how he managed to harm Budapest with what he did. However, let's not forget some of his actions. For example, he successfully threw traffic in the capital into chaos with his dilettante pinging of bicycle lanes, ignoring all professional considerations. Of course, purely for environmental reasons, as he is a man of his word. He announced a climate emergency, so damn it, if there isn't one, something had to be done to make it happen!

To the delight of allergy sufferers, he reduced the budget of the Main Garden, which is why he does not run to weeding. No problem, he reclassified the weed field as a "bee pasture", which is a revolutionary innovation. There are no bees, but if there were, they could graze. People with allergies should just suffocate.

In the spirit of the Tiszta Budapestert movement, he dismantled the public waste collectors one by one. Why so many trash cans that don't fit into the wonderful landscape? Those who are environmentally conscious will take the trash home anyway, and the rest... well, you can't do anything with them anyway...

Shall we continue? For what? He neither likes nor cares about Karácsony's amazing dilettantism, but we could still say understandingly: he is incompetent, he doesn't understand, let's forgive him. But if you don't understand it yourself, ask for the help of a consultant. One of nearly 50.

Oh, how come they are only interested in defaming Fidesz? Of course, this is true, but it's too weak to make an excuse.

But this is not all about the disastrous operation of Karácsony. The Fidesz organization in Budapest summarized in a few points and published on its social media page what Karácsony lied about in his election program, that is, what he did exactly the opposite of what he promised. Here it is:

"Do you remember what promises Gergely Karácsony campaigned for the position of mayor in the fall of 2019? Now that you've launched your campaign for Prime Ministerial candidate, it's time to refresh our memory! We brought some quotes from Karácsony's "Budapest Constitution" program...

"Budapest is the common home of all of us, where there are no first-class or second-class citizens."
It was written by Gergely Karácsony, and then he classified those who drive by car as second-class citizens. "The mayor, the district mayors and the Metropolitan Assembly must not serve business or party interests, but the interests of the residents here."
It was written by Gergely Karácsony, and then entered the left-wing coalition's prime ministerial candidate race. "Budapest is a unit consisting of 23 districts, within which the uniform development of the outer and inner districts must be ensured."
It was written by Gergely Karácsony and then zeroed out the road renovation budget of the right-wing districts. "The political participation of city dwellers cannot be limited to electing their representatives.
Before any major decision, the opinions of those involved must be sought, especially with regard to the planned investments." It was written by Gergely Karácsony, and then he modified the renovation plans for Blaha Lujza tér by excluding the public. "The city must operate in an open, transparent and corruption-free manner, where all data and contracts of public interest are public and easily accessible."
It was written by Gergely Karácsony, and then he watched Leisztinger-Tüttő's bus muty and the HUF 5 billion increase in the price of the Chain Bridge with his hands in his lap. "The Capital Assembly also makes a decision on the chapters of the central budget that affect Budapest." It was written by Gergely Karácsony, and then the central budget of Budapest was decided by one person.

But above all…

"The work of the mayor, district mayors and the Capital Assembly is always determined by the interests of the citizens of Budapest. Accordingly, the mayor, district mayors and the Capital Assembly assume responsibility for all issues affecting the citizens of Budapest." Then for a year and a half, he did nothing but complain, explain, point at the government and deflect all kinds of responsibility...

Reading Gergely Karácsony's new program, let's remember these loud words and then the disappointing reality!"
