Krisztián Tóth won an Olympic bronze medal in the 90-kilogram category in Tokyo, as he defeated the two-time European champion Mihail Igolnikov representing the Russian team with a golden point. This is Hungary's 500th Summer Olympic medal!

Krisztián Tóth was not particularly nervous before his last match either, he hung around in the corner of the hall as calmly as before the previous rounds, even though you rarely compete in an Olympic bronze medal match. In addition, the 24-year-old Russian Mihail Igolnikov is not a bad judoka, in fact, since they have met in two Grand Slams so far and he won in Abu Dhabi in 2018 and in Budapest in 2020, we could even think of him as a mummy.

But not Krisztián Tóth!

He wasn't bothered by anything that didn't happen on the mat that day, so we were the only ones nervous, Igolnikov started a bit more actively, and after 1:12 our son was shaken. What's more, it was already a minor heart attack that they scored a vazari for the Russian 0:54 before the regular fight time. However, Tóth actually wanted to start his action, he knelt down, he was unable to continue and was knocked half to the side, half back by his rival, but this is not Vazari, it is nothing, so the point was withdrawn.

...and when we got away with that, we were able to establish that Igolnyikov, in an otherwise strange way, simply started to stop, which the members of the Hungarian juggler delegation outside the stands made aware of by shouting "Tired, Krisz, tired!" to everyone - who knows Hungarian.

In the meantime, of course, the first four minutes were over, we turned to extra time, in which practically only Tóth tried, but he was awarded his second goal. Well, at 1:36 we started jumping, but it was too early, because his efforts were not honored either, but as a consolation prize, they finally shook the opponent, with whom they even performed a special number jumping on one leg.

However, this match, this day, Tóth's Olympics could not have ended any other way than it did: he spun Igolnikov beautifully, and he himself spun with him, but this was enough to sanctify his vazar - and his Olympic bronze medal!
