It is stomach-churning and deceitful that the Gyurcsánys are speaking, who ran an anti-vaccination campaign purely for the sake of power in order to make the elderly feel unsure about vaccination and attacked all measures aimed at curbing the epidemic - Fidesz reacted to the statement of Klára Dobrev (DK).

Most of the elderly people died in the Pesti út nursing home of the Capital City Municipality, for which the mayor and deputy mayor of Gyurcsány are responsible. Hungary is the first in the vaccination race, where the elderly were among the first to be vaccinated, and Hungarian pensioners are the first in Europe to be able to receive the third vaccination, the ruling party said in a statement.

DK: the government failed to manage the epidemic

The Prime Minister candidate of the Democratic Coalition (DK), who is running in the opposition primaries, claims that during the pandemic, the government failed to manage the epidemic.

At her online press conference on Tuesday, Klára Dobrev said: 24.hu sued the government for the data on the basis of which it was proven that "twice as many people died in November and December 2020 as in the same period a year earlier". The EP representative put it this way: twice as many of our compatriots of retirement age died because the government refused to take even the most basic professional rules of epidemic management into account.

The politician added that the vast majority of those who died were among those whose incomes and pensions did not even reach HUF 150,000.

Despite the fact that the DK requested that the pensioners receive at least a one-time subsidy of fifty thousand forints, "we fell on deaf ears," he said.

Klára Dobrev finally said that they will know and make public exactly where the current decision-makers "spoiled" the crisis management, how many people had to die unnecessarily.
