Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven announced on Sunday that he will resign from the positions of prime minister and party chairman in November.

He announced at his press conference that he had already informed the executive committee of the Social Democratic Party he leads and the head of the nominating committee. Lövfen will step down from his position as party president at the congress of the Social Democrats in early November, and as a result, he will also resign from the post of prime minister, which he has held since 2014.

In next year's (September) election, the Social Democrats will be led by someone else. Everything comes to an end one day, and I want to provide the best conditions for my successor.

Lövfen said.
