The Pálosok, the only male monastic order founded in Hungary, operating for more than 750 years and approved by the Pope, has organized an exhibition, which can be seen in the National Museum until September 12.
 

The exhibition presents unique values ​​from the history of the Pauline Order. Until now, such comprehensive and rich archaeological and historical material has never been seen from here on the border, from beyond our borders in one place about the history of the Order of Paul, which determined the fate of our country for centuries and previously influenced the fate of the whole of Europe.

The aim of the exhibition is to provide a comprehensive picture of the past, present and prospects of the monastic order serving the world today on four continents. In the palatial rooms of the József Museum, you can see the archaeological findings of the monasteries of the Carpathian Basin, the domestic and foreign codices preserving medieval, Pauline-related literary monuments, early modern prints, numerous liturgical objects, paintings, engravings and sculptures, all of which are rich in order. they testify to his heritage.

The exhibition addresses all groups of secular and ecclesiastical society at the same time with basic information and interesting facts; for those who have little or no information about the Pauline order. By presenting various topics, it also wants to arouse the interest of those who have general or deeper knowledge of the history of the order.

There will be no shortage of spectacle and digital surprises this time either, as extremely colorful material has been gathered from domestic and foreign secular and ecclesiastical public collections. The exhibition consists of a dozen thematic blocks and its interesting features include the roller coaster installation and the light rail field table displaying the Black Madonna Pilgrim Train.

Antal Puskás, provincial head of the Hungarian Pauline Order, is confident that thanks to the exhibition even more people will be able to get to know the values, past and present of this Hungarian monastic order: "Each period in which faith proved to be stronger than fear is a clear testimony that the Pauline Order is the work of God .”

Every two weeks, the exhibition of the Hungarian National Museum awaits everyone with special Pauline programs. The next one will take place on Thursday, August 26, between 18:00 and 19:30 with Annamária Sudár and Máté Török, the frontman of the band Mistrál.

On Thursday, September 9, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., they can participate in a round-table discussion about the historical role of the Pauline Order. The speakers are archaeologists, historians, art historians, literary historians such as Gábor Sarbak, Szabolcs Serfőző, Zsuzsa Pető and many others.
