A documentary film about the Polish midwife who helped give birth to three thousand babies in Auschwitz will be shown in the cinema hall of the Polish Institute in Budapest, for the first time in Hungary.

The protagonist of the film is the heroine of occupied Poland - Stanisława Leszczyńska. The woman, who worked as a midwife before the war, was arrested by the Gestapo in 1943 in the Łódź ghetto for helping the Jews, then deported to the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp with her three children. There he goes through one of the greatest trials of his life. As a midwife, she helps 3,000 newborns into the world in inhumane conditions, on the verge of physical and mental exhaustion.
