We live in a world where if a Christian does not accept his faith, he will be pushed into the background and the vocal majority will also suppress the teachings associated with faith - stated the State Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office responsible for church and ethnic relations on Saturday, in Sukoro, on the occasion of the 52nd International Eucharistic Congress at the wooden cross.

Miklós Soltész said that the congress is a bit like the Olympics in sports, it is the biggest event within the Catholic Church. At the same time, it is also a great holiday for other religions, since they live in peace next to each other, "they are united in Christianity," he added.

The Secretary of State said that every Christian must take up the cross and present it to the world as a two-thousand-year-old value, since "we have as much to do with the created and built world as anyone."

Miklós Soltész indicated that due to the pandemic, the organization of the congress was delayed by a year, it will be held in 2021, which is why the foresters are erecting 21 crosses in 21 different places.

Zoltán Tessely, the region's Fidesz parliamentary representative , spoke about how the cross has been showing the right path for the Hungarian people for a thousand years. He emphasized that, in the current difficult, "anti-Christian and anti-Christian situation", the task of Hungarians is even more to follow the spirituality of St. Stephen, and the more people attack the roots and symbol of Hungarian culture, the crucifix, the higher it must be raised.

Krisztián Molnár (Fidesz-KDNP), the president of the Fejér County Assembly, emphasized that in Europe the cross is not "trendy", but rather it is being taken off the walls; Christianity and the concept of family are also under attack. That's why he called the initiative of erecting crosses in honor of the congress as salutary, because he thinks it's the right direction.

After the speeches, parish priest Norbert Récsei consecrated the cross.
