The Catholic Social Days (Kattárs) will be held in Budapest this year as part of the International Eucharistic Congress (NEK), where interested parties will be welcomed with creation protection, gypsy pastoral and family programs, the Hungarian Catholic Bishops' Conference told MTI on Thursday.

On September 8, at the Hungexpon, Szombathely County Bishop János Székely and the Naphimnusz Creation Protection Association will hold a lecture and a round table discussion on creation protection and Pope Francis' encyclical Laudato si'.

As part of the gypsy pastoral programs, on September 9, also at the Hungexpo, the mass in Lovári language entitled Le Devleske (To God) composed for this occasion will be performed.

At the Gypsy Pastoral Faculty in the afternoon, the lecturers present the work of church-run schools, community centers and Roma vocational colleges.

After the faculty, a meeting of the Gypsy communities will be held in the Szent László church in Köbánya.

On September 11, a family day will be organized on Margitsziget. At Alsó-Nagyrét, there will be performances, concerts, and discussions on two stages, and in addition, religious orders, Catholic communities, and spiritual movements will present themselves in 70 tents.

Performing artist Ági Szalóki, poet János Lackfi, neurosurgeon András Csókay, Mező Misi and the Eucharist Ensemble, the Kaláka Együttes, Catholic priest András Hodász, actor-director Pál Göttinger and the Irish Coffee band will perform, among others. In addition to their productions, the speakers will talk about their faith and their encounter with God.

At the end of the event, the participants will march to Kossuth tér, led by János Székely, the county bishop of Szombathely, where Cardinal Péter Erdő, Archbishop of Esztergom-Budapest, will present a celebratory mass.
