Not only the campaign around the beginning of the school year was effective, but also the vaccination that started in August, Prof. Dr. Miklós Kásler said about the campaign-style vaccination of students in his latest video interview.

In addition to the vaccination of students, the minister also touched on the 85% vaccination rate of teachers, trusting that this number will rise in the near future.

He emphasized: Currently, in Hungary, the health of children is mainly protected with 13 types of mandatory vaccinations linked to age groups. Not only is this unique in the world, but also the vaccination rate for these vaccines is around 99%.

Among the recommended vaccinations, the minister singled out the free HPV vaccination for children, which began seven years ago for little girls and for boys in the 2020/21 school year. The vaccination rate among little girls is close to 82%, while that of little boys is 71%. This high vaccination rate was achieved in very few countries, he said.

At the end of the interview, Miklós Kásler recalled the success of the Hungarian Paralympic team in Tokyo: because of the Soviet occupation, Hungarian athletes could not participate in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, but at the same time, the Paralympics could represent our country at the New York Paralympics, since they the leaders of the dictatorship were forgotten. There were no political aspects at this time, so the Hungarian result, which was rare, was achieved with a full field - the minister concluded the conversation.
