The Family Day of the International Eucharistic Congress starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday in Alsó-Nagyré on Margitsziget in Budapest.

More than 70 organizations, programs on two stages, spiritual and leisure programs are waiting for those interested in the press conference held on the preparations for the family day organized by the Families in Jesus Community and Catholic Social Days.

Bishop János Székely of Szombathely , head of the Gypsy Pastoral Committee of the Hungarian Catholic Bishops' Conference and chairman of the Caritas in Veritate Committee, said:

"The motto of the 52nd International Eucharistic Congress (NEK) in Budapest is: "All my sources come from you". Which also means that Christianity is such a mysterious spiritual force, a source of life, which fertilized the entire Western world. It permeated culture, science and our whole way of thinking".

The bishop added that the scientific development experienced by Western culture stems from the biblical message that the world, which is a creation of divine wisdom, can be known. The first free schools, founded by monks, were of Christian origin. But our first hospitals were also run by Christians. The Catholic Social Days (KATTÁRS) event wants to show how Catholic teaching has gone through the life of society.

We Hungarians have been the bastion of Christianity for a thousand years, and in a spiritual sense this is still our mission today: to protect marriage, the family, the God-given gift of gender identity and sensitivity to the poor. Bishop János Székely concluded his words.

Réka Liszka-Kaposi and Levente Liszka, representing the Families in Jesus Community, spoke about how family day is a good opportunity to present the diversity of the Church. There will be two stages on Margitsziget, during the podium discussions you will be able to meet, among others, Olympian Csanád Gémesi or neurosurgeon András Csókay.

Among the performers we will hear NEK announcers Ági Szalóki and János Lackfi, Misi Mező and the Euchariszt Együtte, the Kaláka Együtte, Father András Hodász and actor-director Pál Göttinger with the band Irish Coffee. At 1 p.m., the participants will form a live image, which will be captured by a drone.
