The Transcarpathian Reformed Church District held a pastoral assembly in Beregszász. During the event on September 12, seven ministers were ordained.

The assembly started with the 90th psalm, beginning from the beginning of our trust in You. Then followed the preaching of Sándor Zán Fábián, the bishop of the Subcarpathian Reformed Church District, based on which he chose the Gospel of Matthew: "Whatever you want people to do to you, do the same to them, because this is the law and this is what the prophets teach." (Matthew 7:12) He emphasized: today is a big day, as our church can appoint seven pastors.

Thereafter, pastor János Héder led the assembly. As he said, the law specifies that the ordination of pastors must be done within the framework of a church district assembly. After establishing the quorum, he announced that seven pastors had submitted their applications to the church district: Erika Margitics, Mihály Kobrin, Laura Gulácsi, Szabolcs Nagy, Dorina Dobán, Zsolt Orosz and Zsolt Soós. Their ordination was accepted by the general assembly.

"I consecrate myself for them, so that they too may be sanctified by the truth." (John 17:19) - Sándor Zán Fábián preached the words of the word. Let this hour be the hour of your sanctification. Not only in the way that we consecrate you, but also in the way that you devote your whole being to God as a kind sacrifice, so that through your service the Lord will also sanctify all those among whom we have now released you - the bishop urged the young apprentices. After the oath, he asked for God's blessing on their service.

Today is a grateful occasion - said Béla Nagy, the chief guardian of the Subcarpathian Reformed Church District, in his greeting. Greeting the ordained pastors, he thanked God for sending people who would undertake the pastoral care of the congregations.

Be a light in your congregations and let God's light be felt everywhere - concluded his welcoming speech.

Pastoral ordination is a significant day in the life of a young pastor and also in the life of the Transcarpathian Reformed Church - emphasized Mátyás Szilágyi, Consul General of the Consulate of Hungary in Beregszáz, in his greeting. He then added: this is a profession that makes its wearer responsible for the fate and spiritual development of his fellow human beings. - May your services and communities be a blessing - concluded the consul general.

After the service of the choir, Bishop Sándor Zán Fábián closed the assembly with a prayer.
