In the coming days, the European Parliament's Fundamental Rights Committee will be examining mostly pro-immigration representatives in Budapest. According to Judit Varga, their intention is clear this time as well.
A delegation of the European Parliament's Committee on Civil Rights, Home Affairs and Justice (LIBE) is visiting Hungary today, and the representatives will stay in Hungary until Friday. The delegation's official goal is to assess the extent to which the freedom of the press and academic life, the rights of minorities and the wider rule of law environment prevail.
They will be received by Justice Judit Varga and Minister of the Interior Sándor Pintér, they will meet Budapest Mayor Gergely Karácsony, representatives of the left-wing parties, as well as journalists, NGOs, representatives of academia and judges.
The delegation is headed by the Green Party French Gwendoline Delbos-Corfield, who took over the "Hungary dossier" from Judit Sargentini in the EP. Its members are Austrian socialist Bettina Vollath, populist Isabel Wiseler-Lima from Luxembourg, far-left Swede Malin Björk, right-wing Spanish Jorge Buxadé from the reform-conservative ECR faction, and Nicolas Bay from the right-wing French National Consolidation representing Identity and Democracy.
The liberal Renew faction was originally supposed to be represented by Ramona Strugariu, but in the past few days the representative of Momentum, Anna Donáth, was delegated instead. In an interview given to our newspaper, Nicolas Bay called this scandalous, reminding us that the right-wing Polish Marek Jurek was not allowed to participate in the 2018 LIBE trip in Warsaw due to an obvious double standard, but Anna Donáth, as a Hungarian opposition member, can be a member of the commission investigating the situation in Hungary, moreover when the election campaign is already underway.
Brussels and the left are actually attacking Hungary because we allow LGBTQ propaganda into Hungarian kindergartens and schools, and we also settle migrants, the Fidesz EP delegation drew attention in its statement. The delegation is full of pro-immigration and LGBTQ activists from the European left, it is safe to say that they will once again write a false political report about Hungary, they added.
As Nicolas Bay pointed out to our paper, the left-liberal forces are obviously interfering in next year's parliamentary elections, meeting with all opposition and left-wing leaders and devoting more time to organizations linked to the George Soros network.
"The delegation's undisclosed intention is to launch another attack because of the Child Protection Act," Justice Minister Judit Varga wrote on Facebook. "Hungary continues to adhere to a consistent and self-identified position: no EU institution can exceed the powers set in the treaties just because a member state does not dance as the Brussels bureaucrats whistle," he stressed. The minister added that they stand before the meeting as constructive partners.
Responding to the disproportionality of the delegation's program, the Civil Cooperation Public Benefit Foundation (CÖF–CÖKA) an open letter yesterday, which we reported on yesterday!
