The National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV) recently finished sending out tax invoice notifications to its customer gateway clients. Until the end of October, those who do not have access to the customer portal will receive a tax invoice statement by mail. It is also more convenient to manage tax invoices electronically, so it is never too late to open a customer portal.

Only those who owe at least five thousand forints or have overpayments of more than one thousand forints will be notified of their tax account balance. Nationally, more than one million people received an electronic notification, while five hundred thousand will receive their tax invoice statement by post in the coming weeks.

Anyone who has a customer portal registration received the information about their current account on their electronic storage (https://tarhely.gov.hu), about which an e-mail notification is sent to the address provided during registration. In such cases, it is worth opening the storage space, as received messages are automatically deleted from the interface after thirty days, unless they are placed in the permanent storage after opening.

If someone did not view the message sent to their storage location, but sees in the e-mail notification that NAV sent a message regarding current account settlement, they can query their tax account balance on the eBEV portal. A detailed guide is available on the website of the NAV under the title "Help with tax invoice enquiries", which shows the process of the enquiry, step by step.

If you have a debt, you can even settle it by online payment by bank card with customer gateway access from the Online Form Filling Application (https://onya.nav.gov.hu), but you can also pay by bank transfer, check or by bank card at NAV customer services. When making a transfer, the tax identification number must be indicated in the notice column. The easiest way to request a check is on the free NAV Infoline number 1819 in menu item 4.

In the event of an overpayment, it can be requested to be transferred or transferred to a debt using form No. 2117 "Request for transfer and transfer for overpayment on the tax invoice". The form is already available in the Online Form Filling Application, so it can be used on any smart device, even a mobile phone, without installing a separate utility.

Anyone who needs help interpreting their tax invoice can call NAV's Infoline at 1819 with general questions. You can call NAV's Customer Information and Administrative System at 06-80/20-21-22 to query and negotiate specific data. For this administration, only a customer identification number (PIN code) or telephone identification with a partial code is required. The easiest way to apply for a customer identification number is to use the Online Form Filling Application on the TEL form, a detailed guide on the process is also available on the NAV website.
