This November, we will pay a HUF 80,000 premium to pensioners. There would have been 435,000 people who would have received less for other reasons, but this year we are able to pay this for them as well. There will be those who, together with the inflation correction, can also receive a supplement of HUF 100,000 - Prime Minister Viktor Orbán told Kossuth Rádió Good morning, Hungary! in his show. Furthermore, the prime minister reminded that the government undertook to correct the sins of the Gyurcsány government.

There are many pensioners in Hungary, which means that our parents and grandparents are alive. Everything has a financial part, so pensions have to be paid. In Hungary, there is a pension system where pensions are paid from collected taxes - Viktor Orbán recorded in Kossuth Rádió's Good Morning, Hungary program. The prime minister added: it is a copy of where there was no communism, where pensions are paid from the accumulated capital. However, Hungary was plundered by more and more people; first the Germans, then the communists, that's why we pay the pensions from the taxes of the people who work today.

However, the view that we support the pensioners is a complete misunderstanding, since they educated us, brought us up and made us able to work, said the Prime Minister. Viktor Orbán pointed out that there is a law in Hungary that states that when the economy performs above a certain level, a pension premium is paid to pensioners.

We have already corrected the high unemployment rate, and we have also raised the minimum wage: from January, the minimum wage will be higher than the average wage during the Gyurcsány-Bajnai government, he said, then continued: our third debt was the restoration of the 13th monthly pension taken from pensioners, so at the beginning of the year, we can return 2 weeks of pension from this. Viktor Orbán emphasized: if the domestic economy performs as well as it has in the previous part of the year, it is possible that in February we can pay even a whole month's pension back to pensioners. However, the Prime Minister stated: this is not yet 100% certain, as it depends on the performance of the economy.

Viktor Orbán announced that economic growth will almost certainly exceed 5.5 percent. In addition to the elderly, the pandemic burdened families raising children. Families raising children can receive the extra money from higher growth, said the prime minister.

A TOTAL OF 1.9 MILLION PEOPLE WILL RECEIVE THEIR TAX REFUNDS BY MID-FEBRUARY.

Viktor Orbán put it this way, "many countries have gas because there is no gas". Between 2002 and 2010, the price of gas and electricity was increased multiple times, he reminded. There was a big battle with international companies and Brussels over overhead reduction.

Today, gas is the cheapest in Europe at home, and electricity is the second cheapest. As we buy the energy, we don't have such sources, said the prime minister.

Viktor Orbán said that there are gas increases in Western Europe that we are already used to here.

POLITICAL CRITICISM AND ENERGY SUPPLY CANNOT BE COMBINED, AND WE HAD TO AGREE WITH THE RUSSIANS, said the prime minister.

The prime minister also spoke about the fact that we cannot take the Ukrainians' points of view into account. We must adjust our steps in the gas matter to the interests of the Hungarian people, said Viktor Orbán, noting that families would have to pay HUF 32,000 more per month if utility prices were adjusted to world market prices.

Viktor Orbán said that our neighbors are implementing very serious military developments. And if there is a problem, it is not certain that we will get help if we do not do everything for safety, he added. We live in an age of danger, we need an effective army. You can't build an army overnight, he added.

The government held a government meeting before a military exercise in order to review the development of the national defense. Viktor Orbán announced that

WE RECEIVED VERY LITTLE MONEY FOR BORDER PROTECTION FROM BRUSSELS.

Resisting the pressure on the Hungarian border is entirely up to us. In the case of Lithuania, the Union helps with the construction of the fence, so we are also entitled to this support. Orbán stated that we should recognize the costs we incurred in protecting the Westerners.

Viktor Orbán finally said that they had been preparing for the fourth wave all summer.

"We are prepared. The virus will not go away, those who have not vaccinated themselves cannot expect that they will not get infected. The virus will find everyone who is not vaccinated.”
