The following information regarding the coronavirus was published on the government portal this morning.
The number of vaccinated people is 5,891,228, of which 5,651,539 people have already received their second vaccination, and 784,000 have already received their third vaccination. 679 new infected people were confirmed, thus increasing the total number of identified infected people to 823,384 since the beginning of the epidemic. 9 patients died, bringing the number of deaths to 30,199. The number of people who have recovered is constantly increasing, currently 785,646 people, and the number of active infected people has risen to 7,539 people. 533 coronavirus patients are being treated in hospital, 84 of them are on ventilators. The new diseases are caused by the delta virus mutant, and the unvaccinated are at greatest risk, so they are asked to register and get vaccinated as soon as possible.
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán explained in his statement on the epidemic on Friday morning that the vaccination works, and not being vaccinated is a risk, so he asked everyone to get vaccinated. The prime minister announced that thanks to economic growth, the amount of the autumn pension premium will be HUF 80,000 for all pensions.
Due to the delta variant of the coronavirus, the number of infected people is rising again in several countries and in our country. However, in the current wave of the epidemic, it is a big advantage that there is already a vaccine and most people have taken the vaccine, which represents the strongest protection against the virus. Less than 1% of those vaccinated become ill, and the course of the disease is usually much milder than those vaccinated. The majority of the Hungarian population has registered for vaccination and has already received it.
