Expo 2020 Dubai opened its doors on Friday. Based on its theme, the Hungarian Pavilion won the recognition of Time Out Dubai journalists, as it was chosen as one of the 15 most special of the 192 pavilions of the World Expo.

The Hungarian Tourist Agency (MTÜ) announced on its website that Hungarian participation is an extraordinary opportunity from a tourism, economic and diplomatic point of view.

The Hungarian Pavilion is located in the Mobility district of the World Expo, and it is the first wooden building not only at the World Expo, but in the entire Persian Gulf region.

The pavilion was designed by Lőrinc Csernyus and then assembled by 17 Hungarian carpenters over the course of months. Not a single drop of water was used during construction, thus connecting to one of the main themes of the expo, sustainability.

The central theme of the pavilion is water , and the building named Aqua Roots of Hungary presents Hungary's unique water resources, their formation and history, with a particular emphasis on natural water resources, medicinal and thermal waters, and balneology.

The world exhibition welcomes visitors for half a year with the participation of around 200 exhibiting countries. This is the first World Expo to be held in the Middle East, Dubai is expecting 25 million visitors from all over the world.
