Michael Ignatieff, the former rector of CEU, said: if Fidesz loses the 2022 elections, but does not accept the result, then the takeover of power will take place in the capital, on the streets.

"However, a sane person does not consider this path viable," he added, however, explaining: it is a fact that the opposition must win with a very large advantage, because the entire electoral system was distorted in favor of the existing power. Michael Ignatieff gave a lecture at the University of Zurich at the invitation of Human Rights Watch and the European Institute, and on this occasion he spoke to the Tage-Anzeiger, according to the HVG article .

Ignatieff, who previously led the Liberal Party of Canada, said that for the Hungarian Prime Minister, power is more important than anything else, but that there is also an ideology behind it, as he clearly took a stand for illiberal democracy. In this way, he made Hungary, which is considered a small country, the center of resistance to the mainstream ideology.
