In another jewel of liberalism, a new order was born in America, according to which the police can no longer take action against people with hypodermic needles, even if they contain the remains of drugs.

In the future, the New York police will no longer be able to take action against those who inject themselves with drugs on the street, Magyar Nemzet reported, referring to an article by The New York Post.

The ordinance states that it is "no longer an offense for a person to possess a hypodermic needle, even if it is not from a pharmacy or needle exchange program." According to this, drug users can freely obtain needles either on the black market or share them with other addicts.

“This law says you can stab your arm, pump your body with poison and lose your life,” Sen. Andrew Lanza, one of the few who opposed the legislation, was quoted as saying by the New York Post.

Realtor William Abramson called the measure outrageous. As he said: due to his work, he meets many people who often complain that they find used needles in front of their apartment, in the doors. He explained:

"Once again, the quality of life in New York is deteriorating, the laws do not take into account the residents and businesses of the city. We all agree that something needs to be done to help addicts. But letting them shoot themselves in the street doesn't help anyone. It's bad for everyone."

We can only hope that in Budapest - despite the liberal city management - they are still not allowed to shoot freely on the streets.
