Niagara Falls was covered in Hungarian national colors in honor of the 1956 revolution and freedom struggle.

On the national holiday, Niagara was dressed in Hungarian colors! The world's most famous waterfall - like last year's Year of National Unity - was decorated in red, white and green colors on the 65th anniversary of the 1956 revolution and freedom struggle, reads the Facebook page of the Consulate General of Hungary in Toronto.

The Hungarian Chamber of Commerce of Canada and the Consulate General of Hungary in Toronto welcomed the guest of honor from Hungary for the festive lighting: Ferenc Dancs, Deputy State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, also participated in the 1956 ceremony, which was attended by Michael Tibollo, Minister of the Province of Ontario, Hungarian Ambassador to Ottawa, dr. Mária Vass-Salazar, Toronto Consul General Valér Palkovits and Sándor Balla, president of the Canadian Hungarian Chamber of Commerce.
