According to Francesco Lollobrigida, the leader of the right-wing Italian Brothers' (FdI) faction in the House of Representatives, the Hungarian revolution of 1956 emphasizes the sovereign right of the people to make decisions even in today's Europe. The Italian politician explained that the message of the Hungarian revolution has not changed even after sixty-five years.

"1956 still proclaims today that peoples must freely decide their own destiny and must fight against those who want to oppress them," said Francesco Lollobrigida, politician of the Italian Fdl, who spoke to the telegraph office on the occasion of the Hungarian national holiday. The Italian Brothers politician added that this example should be followed in today's Europe as well:

"we want a better, stronger Europe that respects the peoples and their freedom".

The faction leader of the right-wing parliamentary party took part in the commemoration organized at the Hungarian embassy in Rome on the occasion of the national holiday, which was traditionally attended by representatives of Italian political, economic and cultural life. is the author of the Italian song Előre Budai čásokok written in memory of the youth of 56 Ambassador Zoltán Ádám Kovács and Andrea Carteny, professor of the Department of History of International Relations at La Sapienza University in Rome, gave speeches.

Maurizio Gasparri, the senator of Hajrá Italy (FI), said that the Hungarian 56 represents the values of freedom and courage.

In our hearts, we always feel the heroism of the guys from Buda and Pest, who fought with their bare hands against the tanks. That heroism can never be forgotten, as it is considered a significant historical chapter, and today it must be motivated by love for Hungary and the Hungarian people, since today's Hungarian youth are the grandchildren of those young people who set an example. That's why we in Italy love Hungary, and many of us who are involved in politics and who know the historical truth feel like brothers and sisters who sacrificed themselves for the freedom of Hungarians and all of us.

Gasparri explained.
