The average age of coronavirus patients is decreasing, the phenomenon may be due to the fact that fewer of the younger people have received the vaccine, said virologist Miklós Rusvai on M1.

The expert added: the majority of people over 70 and those living with chronic diseases have received the vaccine, as have many from the age group of 12-18, so it is rather the unvaccinated members of the middle age group who are at risk.

Miklós Rusvai also said that the epidemic data in Hungary are better than those of a year ago; fewer people died from complications of the disease and fewer people are on ventilators.

The virologist highlighted: as the flu epidemic approaches, it is also worth requesting the flu vaccine, and in addition, wearing a mask is what significantly limits the spread of various viruses. The specialist encouraged everyone to wear a mask on public transport and in shopping places.
