The House of Traditions was represented by Dalinda, Pengetős Trió, Ötödik Évszak, Muzsikás and ten music industry professionals successfully performed at the English Folk Expo.

EFEx, the most prestigious British world music festival, was held in parallel with the Manchester Folk Festival at the end of October. Hungarian folk and world music was represented by the House of Traditions as a prominent partner institution, the organizers told MTI on Sunday.

As written, the English Folk Expo is a charity that supports the English folk music sector with various projects. Festivals and professional events are hosted every year to present the most promising ensembles feeding on folk music to the public.

At the current event, representing the young generation of folk musicians, Dalinda, Pengetős Trió and Ötödik Évszak staged Hungarian folk music with a special arrangement, individual processing, unique sound, combined with other genres, so in addition to the authentic performance of Muzsikás, the audience could also get to know more modern perspectives of folk music. The concerts were a success among music professionals and audiences alike, which may bring them further international performance opportunities.

According to the announcement, appearing at the Manchester Folk Festival contributes to the creation of a favorable image of Hungary, the promotion of Hungarian folk music traditions, and the establishment of new partnerships and collaborations.

This year, the United Kingdom and Hungary celebrate the centenary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, and on this occasion, the ensembles and professional delegation of the House of Traditions participated in additional events. On October 21st, the Pengetős Trió gave a concert at the celebratory reception of the Hungarian Consulate General in Manchester, on October 23rd, a dance hall was held, where the Muzsikás ensemble participated, and the documentary film Fly, madar, fly by Simon Broughton and Balázs Weyer, which elaborates the history of the dance hall movement, was presented.

The staff of the Hungarian Consulate General in Manchester and the Hungarian Cultural Center in London also took part in the organization of the three-day event.
