WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE NATIONAL HAUSZMANN PROGRAM, HIS LOVARDA, RECONSTRUCTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ORIGINAL, WITH ITS BEAUTIFUL BANDED MANZARD SADDLE ROOF, COMPETITION IN THE CATEGORY OF METAL ROOFS AND FINALLY WON THE BEST RECOGNITION.

The current reconstruction was managed by the Castle Administration, the lead designer was Ferenc Potzner, the contractor was West Hungária Bau, and the roof work was carried out by HOREX Kft.

IFD is a worldwide professional organization that includes 15,000 roofing companies from 22 countries. Since 1988, the association has organized an indoor world championship, where Hungary is regularly represented. In addition to almost all European countries, the United States and China were also represented at the IFD Award this year, so Hungarian buildings started in a very strong field. The Hungarian victory in the World Cup is also outstanding because it has not been the case in this competition for many years.

THE ORIGINAL ROYAL RIDGE WAS THE DECOR OF THE BUDAVÁR PALACE FOR ALMOST HALF A CENTURY FROM 1901. IT WAS DESIGNED BY ALAJOS HAUSZMANN AND BUILT BY THE BEST MASTERS OF THE TIME.

The destruction of the Second World War did not spare this building either, and although it could have been saved despite the war damage, it was completely demolished by the communist government in 1950 for ideological reasons. The reborn Lovarda and its immediate surroundings, the Stöckl stairs and the parts of the Csikós courtyard completed before the deadline, were handed over to the public by the Castle Administration in mid-September. The historic square handed over on the Days of Cultural Heritage has been closed for decades, but it reopened an extremely important traffic axis in the Budavári Palace District.

DURING THE RECONSTRUCTION OF THE HORSEHOUSE, NOW WORKING AS A MULTIFUNCTIONAL EVENT VENUE, IT WAS A PRIMARY CONSIDERATION THAT THE CREATORS FOLLOW THE ORIGINAL PLANS AS EXACTLY AS POSSIBLE.

The 30-meter-high building's slate-covered tin roof, decorated with top decorations, domes and windows, was recreated from period materials by the specialists involved in the design and implementation. The roof is covered with the same green and red English natural slate that once covered the entire Royal Palace, according to a statement from the Castle Administration.
