Is the collection of signatures against the Gyurcsány show partisan politics? Is there still a way back to the European People's Party? Has Fidesz changed? Is the child protection referendum necessary? Interview with Tibor Navracsics.

At the beginning of the year, he said he was happy to be able to do meaningful work that was not party politics. In the fall, he already collected signatures against the "Gyurcsány show" in the Fidesz action, and he stood up for the screening of Elk*rtuk. What happened?

I do not link any of them directly to party political expression. The connection between Ferenc Gyurcsány and the 2022 election is inseparable from the events of 2006, and the same applies to Gábor Kálomista's film. 2006 was a turning point, not only because of the Ószöd speech, but also from the point of view that Hungarian democracy was put to the test in the fall of that year. The government's policy failed, as there were peaceful demonstrations, to which the government responded not with compromises or a negotiated solution, but with police attacks and rubber bullets. With the current collection of signatures, we demonstrated that we do not want Ferenc Gyurcsány to return to power. This is a goal that goes beyond party political interest. I think the same way about film screenings: everyone is busy thinking that I wrote a letter to the director of a local cinema, but the point is that there is a city where an otherwise successful film is admittedly not screened because someone does not like its subject. This has not happened since 1990, no matter how difficult political times we lived. Banning a work based on taste is unacceptable. That's why I spoke up, again regardless of party affiliation.

Previously, he considered the Soros plan a rhetorical element of the upcoming election campaign. Now isn't it a rhetorical element?

We will see this when the opposition parties have compiled their joint list. If Ferenc Gyurcsány is not included in, say, the first three hundred, then it was a rhetorical element. If, however, it is listed as second, fifth, tenth, then no.

Isn't the fact that he manifests himself in such matters more likely to be attributed to the fact that he is once again preparing for a role in party politics?

It is clear that there is a connection, since in the summer I became the chairman of the individual electoral district number 3 of Veszprém county. That is why you can find several tasks of a party political nature.
