Telex, Index, HVG and 444 used bombastic titles to describe a speech by Speaker of the House László Kövér, which he gave to the leaders of the secret services last year. The bottom line: According to László Kövér, the opposition represents the biggest threat to national security. The problem is that the politician didn't say that.

Last February, László Kövér, the President of the Parliament, gave a speech to the current and former leaders of the Hungarian civil national security services on the occasion of the organization's thirtieth anniversary. Direkt36 obtained the recording of the speech given behind closed doors, from which it was revealed to Telex, for example, that

Kövér used the festive occasion to formulate a political message to the leaders of the services. Although he did not name parties and politicians, he clearly indicated that, in his opinion, the political opponents of Fidesz represent the greatest national security threat to Hungary.

However, all that was said was that Kövér outlined that the country is organized along extremely divided, mutually exclusive interpretations of the world: there is a patriot-sovereignist and a globalist-Western trend that has been dividing the country for at least a hundred years. Quote:

One part of the Hungarian political class thinks in terms of a self-governing state and a self-conscious nation, believes in this and works for this, while the other part of politics acts in the spirit of the political tradition of a self-giving state and a self-aggrandizing nation. I consider this political situation to be the most dangerous national security risk that threatens Hungary.

In Hungarian, the situation is the most dangerous risk, not the "other" part of the political class. In any case, the Speaker told the Secret Service:

In your profession, loyalty should not mean ideological identification with one or another camp of political representatives. For you, the professionalism and legality of operational work means loyalty to your superior, your state and your nation.

Key phrases from which it is not clear at all that "the political opponents of Fidesz represent the greatest national security threat to Hungary". And it's not that the secret services should, say, have an ideological identity with Fidesz - or even with László Kövér - but (watch out, repetition!):

For you, the professionalism and legality of operational work means loyalty to your superior, your state and your nation.

You decide why the aforementioned bodies - and the opposition - followed them and why they filtered out of these sentences, and why right now!

Let's see the incriminated video of Direkt36, they are trying to find the phrase in the title. It didn't work for me!
