The number of vaccinated people is 6,138,885, of which 5,852,417 have already received their second vaccination, and 2,609,385 have already received their third vaccination. 10,466 new infected people were confirmed, bringing the total number of identified infected people to 1,124,726 since the beginning of the epidemic. Most of the 218 people who died were elderly and chronically ill, so the number of those who died rose to 34,931. The number of people who have recovered is constantly increasing, currently 902,000 people, and the number of active infected people has risen to 187,795 people. 7,450 coronavirus patients are being treated in hospital, 550 of them are on ventilators. So far, a total of 947,000 people have been vaccinated in the Vaccination campaign, of which 775,000 have already taken the third booster vaccination and 114,000 people who have not been vaccinated have decided to take their first vaccination. In view of the success, the government has extended the Vaccination promotion, so until Sunday, December 5, you can go to the vaccination points between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. without making an appointment in advance.

This week, the hospitals are expecting visitors with increased vaccination capacity either for the first, missed second, or third booster vaccination. Unvaccinated people can come to the vaccination point without prior registration, in which case they will be registered on the spot. Those who arrive without an appointment will be vaccinated in order of arrival. Those who registered in advance and booked an appointment online can avoid waiting. The third booster vaccination is also recommended for everyone who received the previous vaccination more than 4 months ago. The booster vaccination can increase immunity to 80-90% again. Last Thursday, the European Medicines Agency (EMA) approved the vaccination of 5-11-year-olds with the Pfizer vaccine. Hungary is ready to organize this as well, the government has contracted additional Pfizer vaccines to vaccinate children, the first shipment is expected to arrive in December.

In addition to healthcare facilities and public transport, masks must again be worn in shops, shopping centres, post offices, customer services, theatres, cinemas, museums and sporting events. At indoor cultural and other events, gyms, swimming pools, spas, and catering establishments, the use of masks is mandatory for those working there. In nurseries, kindergartens and schools, principals and rectors in higher education institutions, and employers in other workplaces can determine the rules for wearing masks. In order to protect healthcare workers and patients, as well as ensure uninterrupted patient care, it is mandatory for healthcare workers to receive the third booster vaccination. In order to increase vaccination coverage, employers can require their employees to be vaccinated. Vaccination is expected in the public sector, in municipalities the mayors can decide on the issue. Companies that require their employees to be vaccinated can also request a vaccine from the county vaccination workgroups, in which case the company doctors can also carry out the vaccination.

The majority of the Hungarian population has registered for vaccination and has already taken it, those who have not yet can still do so the  www.vakcinainfo.gov.hu . After registration, it is possible to book an appointment for vaccination at the general practitioner's office and on the Internet at  www.eeszt.gov.hu . Anyone with a valid registration can book an appointment for the first, missed second and third vaccination in the appointment booking system.
