Hieronymus Bosch XVI. It will be a huge challenge to create the 19th-century Dutch painter's Garden of Beauties in an animated film. Oscar-winning cartoon director Ferenc Rófusz told vasarnap.hu, with whom the paper's staff talked about his new, breathtaking film. We received a small grant, with which we will be able to create the first tests and the presentation. We are currently trying to get funds: we even consider crowdfunding to be possible

"Our idea is to bring Bosch's beautiful winged altar to life in an animated short film. Everyone knows the work of the German painter, and his detailed depictions have many fans." said the director

"The message of the painting is still valid today. If we look at the depiction of hell in the painting, we can see that nothing has changed since Bosch's time: we live in the same sin and madness as in the 15th and 16th centuries. century man.

I am convinced that Bosch's image can also appeal to people of today. And animation can help to bring to life those details and references that can be used to bring even the original intention of the master closer.

I always liked professional challenges because they pushed me forward. You could say that my work was all about experimentation, I didn't make popular films, but mainly author's short films. I was happy to use the subjective camera, which neither before nor after me did, because they were frightened by it. The fly (Rófusz won an Oscar for this film) was also terribly clumsy. After the first test screenings, you couldn't understand what it was about because the pace was too fast. Then we had to draw between the existing scenes. It was a very difficult work technically, and it was no accident that it had been in the works for years.

Funding has not yet fully lined up for the film. Rófusz even hopes that the Prado, which houses the original picture, will also contribute to the production costs, since the animated film could even be shown in the museum or sold as a souvenir on a flash drive."
