In today's world, it is important that young people dare to take up their Christianity and dare to say it in Europe and in Hungary as well - this was said by the State Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office responsible for church and ethnic relations on Sunday in front of the Matthias Church in Budapest.
Miklós Soltész said at the guitar flashmob of the young people of the Orságúti Ferences Plébány and the Felső-Kristinavárosi Plébány on Szentáromság tér that there is a place for guitar songs in Christian life and public life, and nothing proves this better than the fact that hundreds of young people have gathered here.
It creates community when young people are together.
"It creates community in the family, in the nation, especially today, December 5, when national unity is important after an ugly referendum several years ago. We have to show that we belong together!"
he said.
Miklós Soltész added: these communities must be strengthened in Europe as well, and if we Hungarians can convey all this to other nations, then we have done everything and shown that we are needed and the world also needs Hungarianness.
With the event, the organizers want to draw attention to the importance of peace during the Advent period. For the youth bands of the two parishes
more than three hundred young people joined the musical flashmob.
Addressing the young people, Miklós Soltész said that he thanked them for confessing their Christianity and faith. He hopes this movement will be at least as successful as the one six years ago. At that time, the video of the musical gathering organized in front of the Basilica was seen by more than one million people on a video-sharing portal, he noted.
