Saint Ursula (IV-V century)

The story of Saint Ursula is related to a legend, probably based on a 5th century inscription in the church of Saint Ursula in Cologne. According to the story, Ursula and 11 (possibly 11,000) virgin companions were martyred during the attack of the Huns. However, there are many doubts surrounding what exactly happened. However, what we can know for sure is that St. Ursula is the patron saint of the Orsolites. The order was founded by St. Ursula, their goal was to promote the education and learning of Catholic women.

Saint Albert the Great (Ca. 1200-1280)

Saint Albert the Great was born in Germany, where he became one of the most famous philosophers, theologians and teachers (he taught in Cologne for many years). He was a Dominican monk and the Catholic bishop of Regensburg.

Also known as Nagy, "Magnus", one of the 36 doctors of the Church. He is the teacher of Saint Thomas Aquinas, who is also the patron saint of students.

He is also one of the 36 church teachers. He was a representative of scholasticism, an important philosopher and theologian. He taught in Paris and Italy, and his writings are now studied by many students all over the world. He also wrote some well-known and famous prayers for students.

Saint Joseph of Kalazanci (1557-1648)

Born in Peralta de Calasanz, Aragon, he was a Spanish Catholic priest. The importance of this saint is related to his role in education. He founded a free school for the poor and became a tutor to the children of the poor.

Later, more schools were founded, and the community was recognized as a monastic order in 1621 under the name Piarists.

Saint Joseph of Copertino (1603-1663)

He was born in Copertino, near Lecce, Italy. At the age of 17, he applied to the Conventual Franciscan Minorite Order, but was rejected due to lack of sufficient education. He then began to study very hard, and after overcoming many difficulties, he passed the necessary exams and was ordained a priest at the age of 25.

Because of this, he is considered the patron saint of students. He often had visions, not infrequently falling into a state of trance. Because of his levitations, he is also called the "saint of levitation".
