It is typical of the "honest" fact-finding of the left-wing members of the investigation committee established due to the intention to sell the City Hall and the capital's real estate tycoon that the immediate vice-president Tamás Soproni announced a "judgment" already at Monday's meeting, since according to him "no one is planning to sell the City Hall, so the case does not exist, which the board investigates".

The case, labeled as non-existent by the left, erupted on November 4th, when the Index wrote that the capital's left-wing leadership would sell the monumental building of the City Hall, which is considered a symbol of Budapest and belongs to the main assets of the Capital City Government, and the related property. At the beginning, Gergely Karácsony also called the information a hoax, but the mayor found himself in a spiral of lies that deepened day by day, after more and more sound recordings came to light.

It turned out that one of the protagonists of the case is the former left-wing Prime Minister Gordon Bajnai, whom Gyula Gansperger, whom he considered an old comrade-in-arms, said in a recording, among other things, that Bajnai is practically a man of the Americans, and that the left wing led by Ferenc Gyurcsány gets all its money from abroad.

The City Hall case gradually swelled into a mafia-like real estate scandal covering the whole of Budapest, as the audio recordings revealed that the capital's left-wing leadership operates a corrupt commission system, and in addition to the former left-wing prime minister, Deputy Mayor Ambrus Kiss is also involved in another 13 real estate cases in addition to the City Hall. in panama. The organization is shown by the fact that Ferenc Gyurcsány's favorite mayors of SE from Óbuda to Újbuda were involved in the speculations.

It is no wonder that even Karácsony reached the point of partial recognition and was forced to accept the establishment of the investigation committee, but tried to make its success impossible with his amendment proposals. Since then, of course, the left has realized that they are making a fool of themselves with the commission's short-term mandate, which is why they postponed the decision-making date to the end of January at Monday's meeting.

They don't need to worry, since in the absence of powers, no actor in the case can be forced to appear before the investigative committee, who make spectacular use of the opportunity. The intentions of the left are faithfully reflected by the fact that the committee has received thousands of pages of documents on real estate sales conducted since the October 2019 municipal elections, while even city hall employees easily withdraw from personal appearances.

Part of the escape strategy is that the left-wing members only accepted the initiative to hear Gergely Karácsony if his predecessor, István Tarlós, who was not involved in the case in any way, could be cited before the committee. The left-wing majority can sabotage the course of the investigation at will, and even the wording of the report will not be a problem, because in the minds of the majority there is hardly any question of its acceptance.

It is already apparent that the National Bureau of Investigation may receive significantly more than the investigative committee, since the police are also investigating the case and have ordered an investigation into embezzlement, fraud, influence peddling, bribery and accepting bribes.
