If it had passed on the left, the measures coming into force on the first of January would not have existed, because they did not vote for them in the parliament - said the director of communications of Fidesz in a video statement on Saturday, wishing all Hungarian citizens a happy new year.

The exemption from personal income tax for those under 25 years of age, this year's budget, the reduction of the 13th monthly pension and the family tax refund were not voted in the parliament, and they also said no to tax reductions important for businesses.

István Hollik indicated that the government was able to put the Hungarian economy on a growth path. Although the left always dealt with the crisis with austerity in the past, placing extra burdens on the shoulders of the people, the government chose a different path. He emphasized: Fidesz and KDNP stand by the Hungarian people even in difficult times, which is why they decided to give extra support to people and businesses during the crisis.

To this end, as of January 1st, in a unique way in Europe, people under the age of 25 will not have to pay personal income tax. The government helps the elderly with a pension premium and the 13th monthly pension taken away by the left is being restored, and for the first time this year, those entitled to it will receive the full amount.

He said: the government will keep the subsidies for parents with children, and those raising children will even receive a family tax refund in February. In addition, the minimum wage and the guaranteed minimum wage will increase significantly in January, and nurses, doctors, police officers, soldiers, teachers, and workers in the social and cultural sectors will also receive a wage increase - he listed the measures.

In order to help businesses, the parliament also voted for a HUF 750 billion tax reduction measure, which will reduce the tax burden of businesses, he pointed out.

István Hollik put it this way: based on the statements of the left-wing politicians, it seems that if they were to get into government, they would again side with the multis, according to the will of Brussels. I would also abolish the utility reduction, the minimum wage and the 13th monthly pension. They would also allow immigrants in and give space to LGBTQ propaganda.

He also spoke about the fact that in 2022, Hungary is facing an important decision, the question is whether "we will continue to move forward on the path we started together, or return to the failed era before 2010, to the past". The left has not changed anything, the same people who once brought the country to the brink of bankruptcy want to return to power, he said.

"Let's not let them do that this year either, because Hungary needs to move forward, not backward," said István Hollik.
