The MSZP representative includes a BGF degree in economics in his parliamentary resume, but according to the university, there is no relevant data in their archives.

his resume on parlament.hu, this is his education . According to the public biography of the socialist politician, he attended the Faculty of Economics and Management of the Budapest College of Economics (BGF) (ed.: the representative may have meant the economics and management training of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting of the Budapest College of Economics) and graduated in 2013.

Representatives are responsible for the content of their CV

Mandiner submitted a request for information in the public interest to the legal successor of the BGF, the Budapest University of Economics, to find out if Ildikó Bangóné Borbély attended the BGF, and if so, for how long, what exams she took, and whether she received a degree there. The university responded that “in the archives of our study system for the person you asked about

no data found".

We also contacted the Office of the Parliament. From there we received the information that they do not have any competence to check the content of a member of parliament's CV. However, the representative is solely responsible.

We also contacted Ildiko Bangóné Borbély regarding her alleged degree in economics, but since Thursday, the socialist politician has not answered the question of whether she obtained a degree at the BGF.

Bangóné joined the Hungarian Socialist Party in 2003, first as a member of the county committee, then in 2008 she was president of the Nádudvar organization, and in 2010 she was elected a member of the county presidency. He was elected to the Hajdú-Bihar county assembly in the 2010 municipal elections. In 2011, he was a candidate for the MSZP in the interim parliamentary elections in Püspökladány, finishing third behind Sándor Bodó from Fidesz and the candidate from Jobbik. In 2012, he was elected as a member of the National Board and the Election Committee, and is currently the president of the Csepel organization of the party.

You can only enter the parliament from a list

Bangóné has been a member of the parliament since 2014. She ran for the first time in the individual constituency of Hajdú-Bihar county No. 5 - centered in Hajdúszoboszló - where she only finished third, again behind the Fidesz and Jobbik candidates. But he managed to get a mandate from the 20th place of the MSZP-Együtt-DK-PM-MLP list. In 2018, she was the candidate of the MSZP-Párbeszéd in Csepel, but withdrew before the election in favor of Szabolcs Szabó (Együtt), who won anyway, so Bangóné again entered the Parliament from 14th place on the list.

A memorable scandal is also connected to his person, as the socialist representative defrauded Fidesz voters in the spring of 2019. "If I'm outspoken: there are a lot of rats in Hungary, if the subject of rats was brought up in Budapest," said on the ATV program, after being asked why Fidesz's support is so strong in the campaign for the 2019 European Parliament elections.

This year, he also wants to be in the runner-up position on the joint national list of the opposition, because

you cannot start as an individual.

In the opposition primaries, his party tried again in Hajdúszoboszló, as well as Párbeszéd and DK. However, he was defeated by László Kiss in a ratio of 54.5:45.5 percent, who, in addition to Momentum, was supported by Jobbik, LMP, Új Kezdet, Új Világ Néppárt and the Márki-Zay movement.
