On Wednesday, on behalf of the Government, I will send our response to the European Commission in the breach of duty proceedings initiated due to the Child Protection Act, wrote Justice Minister Judit Varga on her social media page.

Judit Varga pointed out that the attack against Hungary because of the Child Protection Act, which clearly falls under national competence, is unworthy.

With the accession of our country to the Union, we did not renounce our sovereignty, we only made it possible for us to exercise certain powers jointly, the Minister of Justice pointed out, adding that this does not include the education of Hungarian children. It belongs exclusively to Hungarian parents.

The minister emphasized that the Commission does not like the fact that we resist ideological pressure and stopped the LGBTQ lobby at the fences of schools.

"Even though we refer to the Basic Law and the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the EU, this doesn't bother them at all, since their goal is clear: to punish Hungary."

However, on April 3, the Hungarian people can express their opinion directly on the protection of minors. The result of the referendum must also be respected by the Brussels bureaucrats, Judit Varga concluded her post.
