Since 2010, the civilian government has placed great emphasis on supporting Hungarian families, improving their conditions, and encouraging childbearing. In the spirit of this, the government introduced, among other things, the baby loan, the home renovation subsidy, and the car purchase subsidy for large families.
Századvég - in the light of the government's family-friendly measures - among politically active Hungarians, examined how domestic families assessed the development of their financial situation over the past 12 years, also addressing the question of how they see their circumstances changing if the left could shape the government.
Based on the public opinion survey, it can be concluded that the positive effects of the family-friendly measures taken by the government can be widely felt by the population.
According to the survey, nearly two-thirds of Hungarians (64 percent) believe that since Viktor Orbán became Prime Minister of Hungary, his family's financial situation has improved overall, while 26 percent of them responded that they think his family's financial conditions have worsened.
At the same time, the research highlights that only 17 percent of respondents assume that their family's financial circumstances would improve if the left-wing alliance led by Péter Márki-Zay and Ferenc Gyurcsány could form a government after the parliamentary elections.
More than three-quarters of Hungarians (76 percent) believe that their family's financial situation would deteriorate or not change in the event of a possible electoral victory of the left-liberal alliance.
