A woman in labor trying to get to the hospital was blocked by climate activists in Germany. The woman had to be escorted by police to a freeway exit as the roads were blocked by "save life" protesters.

The "Save Food - Save Lives" group of eco-extremists was previously warned by the spokesperson of the rescue service that their protests involving the blocking of roads are life-threatening. However, despite the warnings, members of the eco-extremist group closed the Berlin autobahn again on Thursday. –

According to Bild's report, the police were fortunately able to escort the woman to the next exit on the highway, so she was taken to the hospital.

Ten activists blocking the road have since been reportedly detained by the police. The group has already blocked roads in Berlin about 30 times in recent weeks.

The majority of politicians condemned the actions of climate activists. AfD's Marc Vallendar, who is a member of the Berlin parliament, condemned the group as a "fanatical doomsday sect".

Berlin cannot afford to continue to be held hostage by a small criminal group"

- says Vallendar in the social media post of the party. "These people want to blackmail us until we give in to their demands."

CDU members in Berlin also condemn the radicals and would put an end to the highway blockade.

These are not silly pranks by boys, but clear crimes," the statement continued.

A member of the German Greens, on the other hand, praised the activists. According to one party member, "political protest is part of a healthy democracy."
