Many people are still interested in the possibilities of the Home Renovation Program: in the first quarter of this year, 8 percent of households definitely want to receive state support for home renovation and modernization by the end of 2022, and another 13 percent would probably use this type of support, according to the joint February report of GKI and Masterplast from his survey.
GKI organizes a quarterly survey to map the residents' home renovation and modernization plans and intentions. In February of this year, 1,000 people were involved in the representative research. The survey will be prepared from January 2020 with the support of Masterplast Nyrt.
Applying for state support is the most popular among family home owners, 10 percent of those affected said they were certain and 15 percent likely participants.
Among those living in apartment buildings, 5 percent definitely claim support, and 11 percent said this was likely.
According to the announcement, the interest in state support is the highest among the middle generations, and among those between the ages of 30 and 50, the percentage of those sure and likely to receive support is 13 and 19 percent, respectively.
Among the regions, the greatest activity – as in previous surveys – is expected in Central Transdanubia.
The analysts also pointed out that more than a third of those planning to receive state support would like to take advantage of the maximum amount that can be applied for, a quarter of them would receive at least HUF 2 million in support. Based on these, the average claim amount is 2.1 million forints, which means a project value of 4.2 million forints including the own resources. This amount increased by about 10 percent compared to last year's fourth quarter survey.
The Home Renovation Program launched by the government enables families living in Hungary and raising children to apply for state support - up to a limit of HUF 3 million. The deadline for submitting the financial report on the completed renovation is December 31, 2022.
