“The anniversary of the revolution of 1848 is coming and they are talking about cutting utilities? Aren't you ashamed?". Nepop Ljubov used March 15 as an example, forgetting that the Ukrainians regularly harassed and threatened Transcarpathian Hungarians when the community wanted to remember Hungarian national holidays.
Ukraine's ambassador to Budapest, Nepop Ljubov, tearfully sent a message to the Hungarians at a conference organized for Friday afternoon, where he said: "Your strategic peace will only be in the grave"
It is known: the expression quoted by the ambassador Viktor Orbán in the first days of the war.
444 and the New York Times also participated in the conversation. According to 444, Nepop also asked the question, is reducing utilities more important than human life? According to the report, the ambassador tearfully spoke about the fact that the West was very late with the sanctions, even though before the war the Ukrainian government asked to punish Russia, to see if the biggest trouble could be prevented.
"A lot of people had to die to finally take action. But there is still work to be done. How many more people have to die to move? Is cutting utilities more important to you than people's lives?" - asked.
“The anniversary of the revolution of 1848 is coming and they are talking about cutting utilities? Aren't you ashamed? Isn't human life what matters? Do those for whom utility reduction is more important than freedom have the right to celebrate on March 15? Please, let only those who have the courage to stand up for freedom take to the streets to celebrate this year!" - Nepop embarked on a historical explanation,
who seemed to have forgotten that the Ukrainians regularly harassed and threatened Transcarpathian Hungarians when the community wanted to remember national holidays.
"You will be next, Putin will not stop!" - He told. According to him, NATO cannot stay out of this "third world war" even in its own defense.
The ambassador thanked the Hungarians who demonstrated in front of the Russian embassy for their support. According to him, these messages are very important.
At the same time, Ambassador Nepop thanked the Hungarian government and Hungarian society for how much they help the refugees. He also thanked the Hungarian government for supporting the EU sanctions and other decisions in international organizations, as well as the Hungarian state aid sent to Transcarpathia.
He added that even if Hungary does not provide weapons, other equipment would be very much needed for survival: generators, sleeping bags, for example. "Although it is better for the Hungarians if the Ukrainians fight now with those weapons, as if they will have to defend their borders with them," said Nepop. On the other hand, the way in which the Hungarian government, hand in hand with the civilians, favored the refugees from Ukraine - regardless of their nationality - has already attracted international recognition. EC Vice-President Margarítisz Szkínász, for example, stated at his press conference on Friday that
"it is impressive to see that hundreds of Hungarian officials, civilians and citizens are present here, at the border and at the railway stations in Budapest".
Nepop also stated that Transcarpathian Hungarians are also fighting against the Russians, so "they should be part of the victories, this is also the war of the Hungarian nation against the aggressor".
In contrast, Transcarpathian Hungarians typically do not see this conflict as their own war. This is evident not only from this article of ours, but also from the fact that the Hungarian population there is coming to Hungary en masse.
Finally, the Ukrainian ambassador called on the Hungarians not to buy Russian products and to boycott Russian enterprises.
