On his social media page, Finance Minister Mihály Varga drew attention to the fact that it is worth reading yesterday's World Economic Outlook report of the International Monetary Fund, according to which a high degree of uncertainty surrounds the outlook for the world economy in 2021.

The Minister of Finance writes: at the same time, the organization has improved its estimate of Hungary's economic performance this year.

The IMF last issued a forecast last year: for this year, compared to the 3.9 percent in October, they predict an economic expansion of 4.3 percent (this is the same as the Hungarian government's expectations), while their new forecast for 2022 is 5.9 percent!

The Hungarian growth data is also favorable in a regional comparison: Poland's economy grew by 3.5 percent; the Czech Republic's with 4.2 percent; And Slovakia's may expand by 4.7 percent this year.
