The government will increase the amount of the national supplement for greyhound subsidies from 17.5 percent to 80 percent -

said the prime minister on Saturday, at the farmers' congress of the Association of Hungarian Farmers' Associations and Farmers' Cooperatives (MAGOSZ) and the National Chamber of Agriculture (NAK).

Viktor Orbán emphasized:

this means that together with the national, EU and expected private investor funds, HUF 9,000 billion will be allocated to agriculture in the following years. That's three times as much money as it used to be

he added.

If we cannot modernize Hungarian agriculture with this, then with nothing, this is the last historical opportunity, if we do not seize this, our competitors will pass us by

he warned.

According to the Prime Minister, with this amount, it is necessary to get to the point where the agro-processing industry is 80 percent Hungarian-owned. He added: if 20 percent is foreign and 80 percent Hungarian in the food industry, then it is also possible to achieve that 80 percent of the food consumed by people is Hungarian.
