The Parliament elected Katalin Novák as the President of the Republic of Hungary today. 193 ballots were found in the ballot box. Five cards were invalid. 188 is valid. Katalin Novák received 137 votes, that is, she was elected with more than two-thirds of support.

He marked the basic law as a foundation in the case of the election of Katalin Novák as President of the Republic on Thursday in the Parliament. The presidential candidate of the Fidesz-KDNP declared in his speech before the presidential election:

he will observe and enforce the basic law, he will work not to dismantle the constitutional order, but to maintain it as its guardian.

He said he was prepared for the challenging task ahead. He must represent all Hungarians, he noted.

He said that as long as the country has free will, it cannot be subjugated, this is the basis of its sovereignty, and its cradle is the family. I will never be willing to give up sovereignty in a national context, he emphasized. Katalin Novák called the war started by Russia indefensible and inexplicable.

Hungarians want peace, we women want to win peace, not war, because in peace you can grow, build, plan, and smile at each other, she said.

Katalin Novák was born on September 6, 1977 in Szeged. He obtained a degree in economics from the Budapest University of Economics and Public Administration, then completed the Community and French law training at the University of Szeged and the Université Paris X. He lived and worked in the United States, France and Germany. He speaks English, French and German fluently, he has advanced language exams in these languages, but he also speaks Spanish at a conversational level. In the 2018 parliamentary election, he won a mandate from the national list of Fidesz.

As a mother of three and responsible for the demographic aspirations of the Hungarian government, her goal was to promote the birth of the desired children, strengthen families raising children, support young people about to start a family, and encourage cooperation between generations. Katalin Novák has already explained several times that she considers it extremely important that women do not have to give up starting a family if their professional career is important to them.

Among other things, the minister is credited with establishing the Mária Kopp Institute for Population and Families research institute, declaring 2018 the year of the family, organizing the biennial Budapest Demographic Summits, developing internationally recognized opportunities such as support for expecting a baby, support for mothers with four children -exemption, the launch of the home building program and nursery school developments.

In November, the book Ami a miénk, published under his editorship and containing the writings of fifty people - including writers, poets, comedians, priests, athletes, scientists, economic and public figures - about the family was presented.
