According to the diplomat, the Russians are only protecting the people who have been subjected to harassment and genocide by the Kiev regime for the past eight years.

Russian Ambassador Yevgeny Arnoldovich Stanyislavov made a statement to the #moskvater blog. He explained that the special operation is not a euphemism, but "it is called that precisely because it has very specific goals - to protect people who have been subjected to harassment and genocide by the Kiev regime for the past eight years."

He said that, in his opinion, peace can only be achieved through the demilitarization and de-Naziization of Ukraine. He explained that “Russia does not plan to occupy Ukrainian territories and does not wage war with the Ukrainian people. Ukraine has launched a war against its own people living in Donbass and against all those who disagree with the Kiev regime.

Russia will carry out this special operation".

"What is happening in Ukraine now is self-defense"

The ambassador explained that "what is happening in Ukraine now is self-defense. Russia defends itself against those who try to use a neighboring state against it". He quickly stated that

in the sense of international law, this is not aggression,

but an action in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter and in accordance with the decision of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation on the implementation of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation concluded with the DNR and the LNR”.
