The Hungarian Prime Minister received the crowd of hundreds of thousands of the Peace March at Kossuth Lajos Square, where he gave a ceremonial speech.
"Clear no to war, No war!" - this is the message of the tenth Peace March of March 15, 2022, according to László Csizmadia, chairman of the board of trustees of the Civil Solidarity Nonprofit Foundation (CÖKA). The marchers marched in front of the Császár-Komjádi Sports Center, from Elvis Presley Square to Kossuth Square, where Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán is giving a speech.
Viktor Orbán first welcomed him. the celebrating crowd, specially greeting the Transcarpathian Hungarians. "Perhaps we have never looked as good as today," said the prime minister.
"Their Prime Minister candidate, who was thought to be a comet, has now crashed into the ground as a cooled piece of stone"
He reminded: on October 23, they informed the left that
Buda is not there, and if I see the chances correctly, Pest is not there either.
We sent a message that we will not let them drag our country back into the left-wing nightmare from which we dragged the country. We communicated that Hungary must go forward and not backward. We on the right are not pious losers, and we are not afraid of the Brussels bureaucrats and George Soros. We have communicated that we will fight," he added.
Viktor Orbán explained that more than a hundred election rallies were held and millions of doors were knocked on, "our strength and chances are growing day by day". The Prime Minister underlined: "we showed our strength and it brought the result, our opponents are in the deepest state of confusion and teetering on the edge of disintegration. Even though the wolf hid in sheep's clothing, the price of deceit must be paid."
Regarding Péter Márki-Zay, the prime minister said: previously, he was seen as a "comet", but now he is the prime ministerial candidate of the left
a cold piece of stone hit the ground."
"The Pole, who is also ashamed at home"
In his speech, Viktor Orbán also touched on the fact that Donald Tusk, the president of the European People's Party, arrived at the left-wing movement on March 15.
"They brought here the Pole who is also ashamed at home, he destroyed his own party in Poland and the European People's Party. Never prevent your opponent from making a mistake," he added.
He explained: Hungarians have long had a habit that when the country's fate turns, they decide together how to avoid trouble. This is our greatest strength, we have been doing this for more than 1,100 years, said the prime minister. He also said: we are different, but when the need calls for it, we call together and organize ourselves into unity. "In times of danger, the country decides its future together," he added.
A strong country
"Since there has been a common Hungarian national memory, Hungarians have always wanted the same thing: peace, freedom and harmony," said the prime minister. "This is what the young people of March said in 1848. Peace, freedom, and harmony require the same thing: strength. Weak people don't get peace, they just pardon them," he added. He added: "luck always favors the strong and they always fall on their feet".
"We want a strong country, but it must always rotate around its own axis, not yielding to the attraction of other planets and not allowing foreign peoples to mark its trajectory. We have been building a strong country for 12 years," Orbán said.
Neither the war nor the left should distract us from building a strong country"
he said.
"The most beautiful country in the world is ours, and the most beautiful language in the world is ours, which we received from the Good Lord. The world's most inventive people are born on this land, it is also a country of good-hearted people, full of great people," said the prime minister.
"Viktor Orbán also pointed out that a country must be strong in its soul, like the young people of March. We set our own goals and we don't let others feel sorry for us," he added. According to the prime minister, they don't want to "fall in love with everyone, and we don't like everyone either. We are not afraid of change because we see it as an opportunity. We are not afraid of our opponents, because we can build stairs from the stones thrown at us. In 2010, we vowed that we would be undeterred, that we would always stand up for Hungary and that we would not give up for a single minute," said the prime minister.
"No Hungarian can come between the Ukrainian anvil and the Russian hammer"
He said about the war that the soldiers had to protect not only the southern border, but also the eastern one. he put it this way: the greatest humanitarian action of all time is taking place. "We have entered the age of danger, there is no room for mistakes and there is no room for haste.
"We cannot make a single wrong decision. Hungary lies on the border of two worlds," said the Prime Minister. "We don't understand wars around here, and they are not fought in our interest, whoever wins, we lose. Central Europe is a chessboard for the great powers," he added. "From our history, we know the nature of wars too well. The best war is one that is avoided," he emphasized.
Therefore, neither soldiers nor weapons will be sent to the battlefields Neither soldiers nor weapons will be sent to the battlefields"
said the Prime Minister.
Regarding the left's stance on the war, the prime minister said: "The left has lost its sanity and would plunge into a bloody war, the left wants to send Hungarian soldiers and Hungarian weapons. We will not let the left drag the country into war," he said.
We will not let the left turn the country and Transcarpathian Hungarians into a military target."
he stated.
"Whoever votes for peace votes for Fidesz"
Viktor Orbán also touched on the fact that for the first time in the history of Hungary, a woman was elected president of the republic in the person of Katalin Novák.
Mothers know that it takes twenty years to raise a man and twenty seconds to lose him”
Women are victims of war, so we must listen to women. She became Hungary's female president at the best time," said the prime minister. "This war should not have happened, we did everything for peace. It cannot be ruled out that on election day there will be gunshots in the neighborhood, and thus the stakes of the election will skyrocket. Pro-peace right or pro-war left. We say that we will preserve the peace of Hungary, whoever votes for peace votes for Fidesz," he stated.
Refugees vs. migrants
The prime minister pointed out that the difference between refugees and migrants is now clearly visible. "We continue to reject the latter," he said. "We don't know what the end of the war will be, and we have to prepare for all eventualities. This is not the time for dilettantes, we are not beginners, we are united, and therefore we will win the referendum," he said.
"The country is on our side, we have to win this election and we will win it"
Viktor Orbán declared: "Now we are turning into the finish line, there are 19 days of marching ahead. Let's go and win the most important battle of our lives", the Prime Minister concluded his speech.
