From today, the exhibition Kings and Saints - The Age of the Árpáds can be viewed in the renovated Szent István Király Museum in Székesfehérvár. There has never been an exhibition on such a scale about the Árpáds, and especially not about the Árpád house saints, as the one that can be seen from Friday in Székesfehérvár, emphasized Miklós Kásler, Minister of Human Resources, at the press conference held on Thursday about the exhibition in Budapest.

The minister emphasized: the real meaning of museums is that they help to understand the thoughts of people of old times through objects, documents, and written memories. The Árpád House was an exceptional dynasty, its male members showed extraordinary abilities, they were excellent statesmen and military leaders, he added.

L. Simon László, director general of the Hungarian National Museum, said: the exhibition, supported by the Hungarian government, features 640 artefacts, more than half of which come from the Hungarian National Museum, as well as several public collections, such as the Széchényi National Library and the Jász Museum, as well as foreign institutions they also borrowed documents and objects.

Among other things, the exhibition includes the Ómagyar Mária lament, the Margit legend, Lehel's horn, and the Árpád-era oath cross. In addition, an early Árpád-era Hungarian flag with a double cross, a copy of the coronation mantle and the Holy Crown, gold finds from the time of the conquest. Objects have also arrived from Salzburg, the Vatican and Oxford. The director-general emphasized: the exhibition will be open to the public until August 31, according to the plans.
