The Russian army destroyed large underground missile and ammunition depots in the Ivano-Frankivsk region of western Ukraine with a hypersonic missile, the Russian Ministry of Defense said on Saturday, according to a report by the Russian news agency Interfax.
According to the ministry, Russian forces also destroyed military radio and reconnaissance centers near the port city of Odessa with coastal missile systems, Interfax wrote. The announcements could not be confirmed by the British news agency Reuters from an independent source.
Russia has never deployed a hypersonic missile before, neither in Ukraine nor in Syria. Since its first successful test in 2018, it has been paraded in several military exercises.

Major General Igor Konasenkov, the spokesman of the Russian Ministry of Defense, said that on the night of Saturday, Russian forces attacked 69 military facilities in Ukraine, including twelve military warehouses and 43 parking lots reserved for combat vehicles.
