The war next door has been raging for the third week, but hundreds of foreign students and workers who left Ukraine are still asking us for help in getting home. Péter Szijjártó wrote on his official social media page on Sunday.

In his Facebook post, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade also reported on specific figures:

In the past few days, 300 Nigerian, 208 Chinese and 190 Ecuadorian citizens were able to return to their country with Hungarian help, which means that so far we have helped a total of 8,813 citizens of 12 nations to return home, with a total of 51 relief flights.

Meanwhile, the largest humanitarian operation in the history of our country is taking place. In cooperation with the Ecumenical Aid Organization, this week we sent more trucks to Ukraine, with which we managed to deliver the donation of the National Ambulance Service to the Beregszász Hospital, as well as deliver a total of 70 tons of durable food and hygiene packages to Transcarpathia.
